Self Defense Products: How Stun Guns Work as Great Self Defense Weapons

There are various different kinds of self defense weapons for people to use for their own protection against dangerous people. One of the best options is that of stun guns. These weapons can be used to defect people without causing any serious harm and giving enough time to get away and get the proper authorities to take down someone who may be dangerous. This is some self defense legality involving these materials though.

The way that this type of gun works is simple. First, in order for the gun to work an appropriate battery will be needed to be used for getting the electrical charge to be read by the gun. Some models will offer rechargeable batteries. However, it should be noted that most stun guns will work off of batteries. Nine volt batteries are usually the best.

These self defense weapons work to contact the central nervous system of a criminal or other dangerous person. It works to reduce blood sugar levels so that energy in the body will be lost for a short period of time. Also, neurological impulses that are used to allow for proper muscle movement will be stopped for a period of time. While the attacker or other dangerous person will be confused for a short period of time and unable to go any further in any dangerous activities the person's organs and other vital parts of the body will not be impacted.

All types of guns here have different levels of energy. When there are more volts with the person who is hit by the gun will be stopped for longer periods of time and it will be harder to get anywhere for that time. The smallest guns can create impulses of one hundred thousand volts. Some will be able to create impulses that are greater than five hundred thousand volts. There will be more nine volt batteries needed for this in most cases.

There is some self defense legality involving these materials. Although the body will not be severely harmed by the stun gun there are concerns about people who have them. Therefore, there are some cities, states and countries that have banned stun guns. In the United States self defense legality states that stun guns are not allowed for use in New York, New Jersey, Indiana, Michigan, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Rhode Island and Hawaii. Usage is limited in the cities of Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia and Baltimore. Also, these weapons are banned in Canada, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Italy.

Stun guns are great self defense weapons in that they can be used to stop criminals from harming people. Also, these materials can be used to not only stop them but also to keep them incapacitated without any major harm. There are various different kinds of these guns, but there is self defense legality that keeps them from being available in all areas.
